Has it really been a month (err…over a month now) since Baby A was born?! Sometimes it feels like just yesterday, and sometimes it feels like years ago. Hopefully I can keep up with these monthly updates for the first year!
It took me until a few days after her actual one month birthday (thanks, flu!) to get the chalkboard done and photos taken, but it got done and that’s what matters.
The first month was definitely a period of adjustment for everyone, but I think by the end of the month we all were in a better place, and enjoying having a little more of a routine. (Though I know that with an infant, there really is no such thing as a routine.) Baby A is eating well and sleeping…well as good as can be expected of a hungry newborn. We go about 3 hours in between feedings.
All of her newborn clothes have pretty much been put away and she is on to 0-3 month, and some smaller 3 month sizes. I know this is the case with clothing brands in general, but I really wish there was more of a standard size for clothing! A few of the 0-3month sized clothing have fit her since day 1, and some of it is still much too large. Just annoying. She is still in newborn diapers, though I think we will move up to the next size once we are out of what we have.
She is a noisy girl. When she is awake or asleep, she is almost constantly making some kind of noise. Sometimes it’s a snoring noise (sometimes those noises sound very similar to her pug sister), sometimes it’s a grunty noise, sometimes its another kind of maybe I’m being cranky but I’m probably just frustrated about something kind of noise. That being said, she almost never wakes up crying. It is usually just grunty noises as she tries to unswaddle herself, and then if we still aren’t paying attention after a bit she gets to the crying.
Overall she is a generally happy girl who enjoys being held and just taking in the world around her.
